EMOLLIENTS - TOPICAL
USES: Emollients are substances which soften and moisturize the skin.
Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prveent dry, itchy skin and minor skin irritations (e.G., diaper rash).
HOW TO USE: This medictaion is to be applied to the skin as directed.
Avoid use in the eyes.
SIDE EFFECTS: Most emollients can be used safely and effectively with no side effects. However, if redness, irritation or itching occur or continue, notify your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor if the condition for which that medication was prescribed does not improve after a few days.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dcotor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: skin infections/disorders, any alelrgies.
Before using that medication, tell your docotr if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or presrciption medication you may take including: any skin products.
Do not start or stop any medicine without dcotor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: There are many types of emollient products available. Some contain other ingredients or may be scented.
They are available in different fomrs such as oils, creams, lotions or sprays. Consult with your dcotor or pharmacist on the product that may be best for you.
MISSED DOSE: Skip missed dose and rseume your regular schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room tepmerature and keep away from moisture and sunlight.
Do not freeze the liquid forms.
